Should we truly expect the ‘Church’ as it has existed for almost 2000 years to be Holy?
What is run by the clergy (and we believe) is not The Church Jesus talks about in the Bible. It is an organisation (ಸಭಾ/Sabha) with well defined hierarchy to manage the affairs. By the by we must appreciate the fact that the Pope himself is a Monarch (a sovereign head of state, especially a king, queen, or emperor). A pure temporal authority. Where does that fit into the Church of Jesus?
What Jesus talks about is the entire humanity that includes you and me.
What we call as Pavitr Sabha (Church) is yet another organisation just like any commercial outfit, revenue being the main objective. So, how does one expect a commercial organisation to be ಪವಿತ್ರ್ (holy)?
However, for the Church that Jesus talks about to be holy you and I got to be holy. While it should have been
“ದಯೆಯೇ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಮೂಲ” – in the Church of Jesus. unfortunately it has been made to be “ಭಯವೇ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಮೂಲ” – in the ‘Church’ run by the clergy that is growing in worldly riches while a large section of its members (‘laity/lay faithful’) continue to be socioeconomically poor.

Well written article about our priests . now a days priesthood is nothing but money making , and no word about serving the people. Recently I met a known person, he said ” sir my brother will be ordained next week, then all our problems ( financial ) will be solved ” this show how our priests are living. Let me stop here if I continue to write it will not end.
